Ralph Rucci is a designer who exists in a world unto himself. It’s a world that for the second season in a row the fashion crowd has been able to see first-hand, thanks to the fact that Rucci has decided to reveal his ready-to-wear collections inside his impressive design studio in the heart of Manhattan.
There, amongst the bolts of fabrics, the book-lined walls and the cutting tables, the designer produced a collection of timeless pieces that one-upped themselves this season as they were also thoroughly ageless. It was just as easy to picture socialite Deeda Blair, sitting front row at the show, in the designer’s flower printed raincoat or slashed double-faced crepe black jacket as it was to imagine street style regular Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea who was also in attendance, craving the same attire.
As is tradition with Rucci, the designer picked up on a thread of a theme not fully explored in his previous show and developed it into an entire collection this time around.
