Once the hidden gem of Milan Fashion Week, Marco de Vincenzo’s talents as a designer and skilled sartorial craftsmen, can no longer go unnoticed by the fashion elite.
Again this season, he pushed his talents further, continued to develop his brand’s codes and challenge his audience to see fashion in an original way. This time, he did this via two very different avenues -geometric shapes and sartorial movement.
“It’s a new story this season,” said de Vincenzo before his show. “It’s lighter then in the past but it doesn’t loose the three dimensional effect I love or the hand worked details.”
He wasn’t kidding.
A group of light-wool checked ensembles had the designer instructing his staff to pull apart the individual strands of yarns to insert rows of beadwork into the weave. This created a pinched, almost scar-like effect on the fabric.
