Andam Fashion Award winner, Hakaan Yildirim based his collection on the bee. The mystery of the missing bee colonies that has been gaining much traction recently might have been the very trigger. Following in the footsteps of documentarians such as Maryam Henein and George Langworthy, who directed “Vanishing of the Bees”, the Turkish designer used said subject as a conceit to discuss “the relationship between humans and animals in nature,” he claimed. This exploration of ecological interactions manifested itself visually in the collection through fragile links that bound repetitive motifs into a grand tapestry.
