Review Collection

Time for take off at Christopher Raeburn and his spring/summer 2015 collection titled ‘Ascent.’ But those with a fear of flying need not worry. Despite the engine noises and the soundtrack adding a back beat to the sound of the wheels bumping down the runway for lift-off, this was a collection with its feet very much on the ground.

There was a mix of functionality and wearability for the fashionista who wants to look good at, say, the desert festival Burning Man or wherever her free spirit takes her.

Here, street and sportswear combined as Mr. Raeburn’s signature ‘pop out parka’ and parachute pieces chilled as things glided down the runway effortlessly.

Slouchy silhouettes, light-weight oversized silk parkas in urban shades of gray and navy, were accented with splashes of neon and inky distorted map prints, perfect for the easy-pack nomads.
